It's been an eventful week for Clemson basketball. Actually, it's been an eventful month, going from finishing just one game behind Duke in the ACC standings before earning a 5-seed in the NCAA Tournament and getting bounced in the first round by 12th-seeded McNeese.

After that, Brad Brownell had to answer some questions about the future of his program.

With four guys departing from the starting lineup, Clemson will have to hit the portal and complement the young guys with veteran transfers. On top of the starters leaving, Del Jones, a freshman guard and former four-star, hit the transfer portal surprisingly. He took everyone by surprise and it was one of the toughest losses of all.

Jones was expected to be the future of the backcourt but his departure now leaves a massive hole there.

Now that Jones is gone, some fans are wondering where he might end up or if he could opt to return to Clemson. Well, the latter part no longer looks like a possibility as he scheduled a visit to Vanderbilt this weekend and he's also heard from six other schools.

Outside of Vanderbilt, Jones has heard from Cal, Virginia Tech, Memphis, Syracuse, Seton Hall, and San Diego. He's drawing plenty of interest but I'm surprised that it's not from better programs. He has a bright future and I could see him at a place like Memphis or Vanderbilt because both were tournament teams this past season.

Jones is looking for a fresh start, it seems, and it's good that he will likely land on his feet but, man, it's going to be weird watching him wear another jersey next season.
