The Clemson sideline held its collective breath in the first quarter of their Friday night showdown with Louisville, as star sophomore wide receiver T.J. Moore went down hard and in visible pain after a terrifying play.

On a deep pass from quarterback Cade Klubnik, Moore laid out in a full-extension dive, attempting to haul in the pass. He couldn't secure the catch and hit the L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium turf hard, landing awkwardly on his side and shoulder area.

Moore immediately rolled over, clutching his side, and remained down on the field. The Clemson medical staff sprinted from the sideline to attend to him, a clear sign of the team's concern.

After several tense moments, in what appears to be a major bullet dodged for the Tigers, Moore was able to get to his feet. He waved off trainers and, to the relief of Clemson fans, jogged off the field under his own power. He went directly into the sideline medical tent for further evaluation.

Moore returned on the next series, but his injury will be something that the Tigers will need to monitor moving forward.
