If you listen close, the breeze rolling off the Allegheny River tonight sounds like the roar of Death Valley on a fall Saturday. With the 2026 NFL Draft about to get underway, the rest of the football world is about to get another reminder of what we already know in Tiger Town: Clemson is still the gold standard when it comes to producing NFL-ready stars.

Let the so-called experts argue over their draft boards. The truth is simple: three Tigers are about to have their names called tonight, and every one of them is a program-changer. These are the kind of players built on Clemson toughness, the ones who make NFL GMs look like they just pulled off a heist.

The Iron Man in the Trenches

Blake Miller is more than just a tackle—he’s a 6-foot-6, 317-pound wall built in the heart of the Valley. After 54 starts in the Orange and Regalia, Miller brings the kind of pro mentality NFL teams dream about. Word is, the Houston Texans are so sold on him they might be ready to move heaven and earth to trade up.

“With three offensive tackles already off the board and a few OT-needy teams coming up, Houston can flip its early Round 3 pick to move up nine spots in Round 1 and get an experienced, reliable right tackle,” Schrager said. “Miller is steady. And after another OL remake for the Texans, that’s what they need. Miller is an immediate starter who can help open run lanes and keep C.J. Stroud clean.”

If Houston passes, don’t worry—New England is lurking, ready to pounce. ESPN’s Mike Reiss calls it a perfect storm of value and need for the Patriots.

“Will Campbell (No. 4 pick in 2025) returns as the starting left tackle, and 35-year-old Morgan Moses is back as the starting right tackle,” Reiss noted. “The 6-6, 317-pound Miller could fill an immediate void as the swing tackle while developing as Moses’ potential future replacement. Miller started 54 games at Clemson, and scouts view him as durable and having a pro mindset.”

The Wrecking Crew Goes Pro

On defense, T.J. Parker and Peter Woods are about to unleash that Death Valley fire on the NFL. Parker is the very definition of relentless off the edge, and Chicago is desperate for someone to line up opposite Montez Sweat.

“Edge is a big need for Chicago,” Schrager said. “The Bears have to find someone to create pressure opposite Montez Sweat. We might see a little push for edge rushers at the end of Round 1, and Chicago could land Parker with the hope that he gets back to his 11-sack production of 2024 (he had five in 2025).”

Then there’s Woods. Don’t let the dip in stats fool you—the man is a blue-chip anchor. Schrager sees him as the fix for a Buffalo unit that struggled against the run.

“Buffalo was 30th against the run last season, averaging 5.1 yards allowed per carry, so it should be considering ways to improve that,” Schrager noted. “Woods – along with Parker, his Clemson teammate – was getting a ton of buzz heading into the 2025 season, and although his production dipped, he has blue-chip upside. Concepcion would also be interesting here, but I think the Bills go defense.”

If Woods somehow falls to the defending champion Chiefs, ESPN’s Nate Taylor says he’ll be a nightmare in the rotation for anyone lining up across from him.

“The ideal scenario for the Chiefs is that one of the top receivers is still available. Since that’s not the case, adding another defensive lineman would be wise,” Taylor said. “The Chiefs need depth behind Chris Jones and Omarr Norman-Lott. Woods is an intriguing prospect who should be more than capable of contributing in a rotational role.”

No matter how it happens—trade up, late-round steal, or a little Tiger magic—one thing’s for surea: Pittsburgh is about to get a whole lot more Orange.
