What a week it was for Clemson football fans.
The Tigers hosted their first weekend of official visits starting on May 30 and it yielded some incredible results. Clemson's class sat at No. 5 nationally before that first weekend and thanks to some masterful work by Dabo Swinney and Matt Luke, the class is up to No. 3.
What transpired? The Tigers landed commitments from four-stars Carter Scruggs and Leo Delaney who now top Clemson's 2026 class in terms of ratings.
Scruggs and Delaney became the fifth and sixth commitments of the 2026 class along Clemson's offensive line. That's right, Swinney and Luke had four offensive line commits before Scruggs and Delaney and now they're up to six in what some are calling the best offensive line class in Clemson history.
Matt Luke has assembled the best OL class in Clemson history:
— Grayson Mann (@gray_mann21) June 5, 2025
4 ⭐️ OT Carter Scruggs
4 ⭐️ OL Leo Delaney
4 ⭐️ OL Chancellor Barclay
4 ⭐️ OL Grant Wise
4 ⭐️ OT Adam Guthrie
3 ⭐️ OT Braden Wilmes
It's time we consider Luke one of the best assistant coaches in the country.
Outside of Scruggs and Delaney, Luke and Dabo landed Chancellor Barclay, Grant Wise, Adam Guthrie, and Braden Wilmes in the 2026 class. That's five four-stars and a high-three-star to round out an impressive class in the trenches.
Clemson has been known to produce some elite offensive linemen over the years and it looks like Luke is going to keep that tradition going with a top NFL Draft prospect coming back for the 2025 season in Blake Miller and a loaded 2026 class that could bolster the trenches for years to come.
As Grayson Mann said above, it's time to consider Luke one of the best assistant coaches in the country. He has previous head coaching experience and it wouldn't be all that shocking to see him get more head coaching looks in the future.
