One of the first players that Dabo Swinney coached when he took the reins in 2009 is now sending his son to play for the legendary head coach.

On Friday afternoon, Clemson secured a commitment from 2027 defensive back Christian Chancellor, the son of former Tiger defensive back Chris Chancellor who played for Dabo in 2009.

While Chancellor is yet to be ranked on 247Sports, he should see his stock rise in the coming months after committing to the Tigers. There's plenty of time for him to gain steam, but teams probably won't be rushing to offer him seeing as he's a Clemson legacy and his dad played for Dabo.

Clemson's 2027 class is now up to three commits after Chancellor verbally pledged on Friday. He joins four-star quarterback Kharim Hughley and four-star linebacker Max Brown.

The class is off to a good start, ranked No. 12 in the country.

Chancellor is going to be a fun story to follow as he gets closer to enrolling. He's going to complete the first father/son duo that Dabo has coached and it's one of those stories that will be documented around college basketball.

Christian's dad, Chris, played for Clemson from 2006-09 and finished his career with 157 tackles, nine tackles for loss, nine interceptions, and five pass breakups. He went on to play in the NFL for a couple of years, but never stuck with a roster, and now he's actually a police officer in Clemson, S.C.

This is a major full-circle moment for Dabo as he enters his 17th year as head coach.
