When you have a history of producing elite quarterbacks, you can afford to be selective when identifying your "guy" in each recruiting class. Well, it looks like Dabo Swinney and Clemson football have found their guy in the 2027 cycle already.
Tait Reynolds highlights the 2026 class under center for Clemson as the two-sport athlete is expected to compete in the Elite 11 Finals this summer but a bigger star may be on the way.
Over the weekend, Clemson offered one of the top quarterbacks in the 2027 class as it looks like Garrett Riley and Dabo have found their guy.
Clemson has offered 2027 four ⭐️ QB Peyton Houston, who threw at this morning’s session.

Look at Garrett Riley grinning from ear to ear.
When watching Houston, it’s easy to see why he’s Riley’s guy.

Peyton Houston is a four-star quarterback from Shreveport, La., who recently won the MVP at the Rivals Camp in Dallas. He is being recruited by the likes of LSU, Oklahoma, Georgia, Texas, Texas A&M, and USC already but Clemson threw its name in the hat and got to see him up close and personal over the weekend.
Houston has a rocket for an arm and there's a reason almost every major contender in college football is taking a close look at him. He is smaller in stature at 5-foot-11 and 198 pounds but he makes up for that with athleticism and vision. He holds 31 offers already.
It's good that Dabo has identified his guy in the 2027 class as Houston is the first quarterback that Clemson has offered thus far in the cycle and they can devote all their efforts into landing him.
It's going to be a tough battle, however, as the teams on his list aren't exactly pushovers.
Houston is ranked the No. 85 overall prospect and No. 8 quarterback in the 2027 class, according to the 247Sports Composite. He'd look pretty good in a Clemson uniform.
