Clemson’s not even done locking down another top-15 recruiting class, but the Tigers are already charging full steam ahead into the next cycle. The staff is out there hustling, sizing up the nation’s best and making sure the next wave of elite talent knows exactly what it means to get that Clemson offer.

Last Wednesday, linebacker Tahj “TJ” Gray took to social media to share the news every Tiger fan loves to see: he’s got a Clemson offer in hand. Gray becomes the 17th prospect in the 2028 class to get the call from Dabo’s crew.

We’re talking about a bona fide five-star here. Gray is the No. 24 overall player in the country, the top linebacker in his class, and the second-best prospect in all of New Jersey, per. That’s the kind of blue-chip Tiger fans have come to expect.

Blessed to receive an Offer from The Clemson University!!! 🟠⚫️ 🙏🏾

At 6-foot-3 and 225 pounds, Gray has been on everyone’s radar since he first set foot on a high school field. He’s been a can’t-miss prospect from day one.

His freshman stat line—, three for loss, a pass breakup, and a fumble recovery—only tells part of the story. Gray turned heads at the FBU Freshman All-American Bowl, earning top performer honors from 247Sports and showing why he’s a name every powerhouse wants.

After his freshman campaign wrapped up, Gray hit the road for unofficials at , , , Penn State, and during the spring and summer of 2025.

By the time his sophomore year rolled around, Gray’s offer list was already pushing 30, with heavyweights like Ohio State, Michigan, Miami, Texas A&M, Oregon, Tennessee, and more all lining up for a shot.

Lately, Gray’s been making the rounds again, visiting Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Florida, , and, of course, Clemson—plus a recent stop at Auburn.

Right now, Penn State and Notre Dame look like the early leaders, since they’re the only schools to get him on campus twice. But with Clemson in the mix, you can never count out the Tigers when it comes to landing elite talent.
