Is anyone else still not used to talking about Ian Schiffelin as a member of Dabo Swinney's football program? It feels just wrong to see him on the football field instead of on the hardwood.

But this is something we're all getting used to.

Schieffelin wrapped up a successful hoops career this past season with the 27-7 Clemson Tigers and Brad Brownell and now he's joining the football team for his last year of college athletics. He's decided to take on a new role and try something he may not be completely comfortable with because his ceiling might be slightly higher in football.

I mean, who else would want to defend a 6-foot-8, 240-pound athletic tight end? No linebacker or safety that I've ever met would want to deal with all of that down the field.

As part of the team for just about a month now, Schieffelin has been given his own locker and now he's already getting some quality one-on-one coaching from Dabo.

It's cool to see Swinney coaching him up like Brownell had been doing for the past four years and it looks like Schieffelin is taking it all in. Getting tips and pointers and one-on-one coaching from one of the top head coaches in the country over the past two decades is something a lot of college football players don't get the pleasure of receiving, so Schieffelin should consider himself lucky.

There's no way to truly tell how successful Schieffelin is going to be in a Clemson football uniform, but he's getting the right coaching and he's soaking in Dabo's knowledge.

The 2025 season cannot come soon enough.
