Clemson wide receiver Tristan Smith is heading to court Monday, ready to fight for his final year of eligibility with the full force of Tiger Nation behind him. The NCAA picked the wrong Tiger to mess with, and you can bet the Clemson family is all in for this battle.

Smith jumped on social media Sunday to let everyone know about his big day in court, and he made sure to thank the Clemson family for always having his back. True to form, Tiger fans showed up in a big way, sending a tidal wave of support and prayers to one of their own as he gets ready for the fight of his life.

Taking on the NCAA

This whole showdown started when the NCAA flat-out denied Smith’s waiver for another season, so he did what any true Tiger would do—he took the fight to them in court.

Smith’s lawyers say the NCAA has been all over the place with its waiver rules, especially for guys who came up through junior college. Their decision robbed Smith of his shot to finish what he started in college football, and it’s also cost him big opportunities with NIL and revenue sharing.

A Proven Weapon for the Tigers

Before he ever put on the orange and purple, Smith was lighting it up at Southeast Missouri, hauling in 76 catches for 934 yards and six touchdowns. The guy’s a playmaker, plain and simple.

Once he got to Clemson, Smith wasted no time showing he belonged, grabbing 24 passes for 239 yards and a touchdown in his first season as a Tiger.

Getting Smith back in the wide receiver room would be huge for the Tigers, but this fight is bigger than football. It’s about a Tiger fighting for his right to finish his journey the way he deserves. The lawyers will have their say, but one thing’s for sure: the love and support from Clemson fans is fueling Smith every step of the way.
