When the transfer portal opened this week, Clemson junior wide receiver Troy Stellato was the first Tiger to enter his name. Now, it appears that he could wind up playing for an ACC rival.

Wednesday, Stellato posted on X that he intends to visit Louisville. That meeting was supposed to take place on Thursday.

Certainly, Clemson fans would prefer to see Stellato find a home outside of the conference. That's because the Tigers will play at Louisville in 2025 meaning Stellato could face the Tigers and have a chance at revenge.

The Florida native has struggled with injuries throughout his Clemson career. After being a 4-star prospect in the class of 2025 (according to 247Sports.com), he saw action in only two games as a true freshman catching two passes for 15 yards.

In 2022, he missed the entire season after tearing a ligament in his knee in fall camp. However, he would rebound with a strong 2023 season.

Last fall, Stellato hauled in 38 catches for 321 yards and a touchdown. What's more, in 12 games played, he made six starts.

He had a then-career-high 51 yards on five catches against Charleston Southern in his first game back from the knee injury. Then, late in the season, he caught a then-career-best six passes for 50 yards against North Carolina. His lone TD of the season came against Syracuse.

In 2024, Stellato grabbed 25 passes for 264 yards and a touchdown in 309 snaps over nine games while making five starts. His best games came back-to-back when he went for 72 yards and a TD on six catches against Wake Forest and 74 yards on seven catches against Virginia.

However, his season ended in November when he had hand surgery as another injury took its toll. Now, he's seeking a fresh start and an ACC rival is getting an opportunity to impress him right out of the gates.
