Clemson Wide Receivers Coach Tyler Grisham is seeing a significant evolution in leadership within his talented room, a shift he finds particularly exciting heading into the new season. Grisham pointed to several players who are stepping up in unexpected ways, showcasing their maturity and commitment.
"I think the leadership in that room is probably as good as it's been definitely since I've been here," Grisham stated at Media Day. He specifically praised Antonio, calling him a "stud" whose "growth, his maturity, his development" have been remarkable. "This guy has gotten better and better and better. And, you know, that's a testament to Clemson and how we pride ourself in development. But it's a huge testament to him and his individual work."
Grisham also highlighted the collective maturity of the group. "I think it's a very mature room, and I think our leadership in that room is probably as good as it's been definitely since I've been here." This isn't just about vocal leadership, but consistent effort and setting an example.
The emergence of these leaders, both vocal and by example, is a critical development for the wide receiver corps. Their consistent work ethic and commitment to improvement are setting the tone for the entire unit, promising a cohesive and disciplined group ready to make plays.
