It might not have looked this way in August, but the Clemson Tigers face a tough test against Duke for Homecoming on Saturday at noon.

Clemson (3-4, 2-3 ACC) was off last week, but suffered a 35-24 loss to SMU in Week 8 at Memorial Stadium, where the Tigers haven’t beaten a Power 4 school this season.

The Blue Devils (4-3, 3-1) come to Death Valley looking to spoil the festive atmosphere. Even though Duke hasn’t won at Clemson since 1980, they’ve been successful in four of their last four games. The lone loss came to ACC standings-leading Georgia Tech.

The Tigers’ 15-game home winning streak against Duke is tied for the fourth-longest against any opponent in school history.

Availability

Cade Klubnik was listed as probable on Thursday’s official ACC availability report. If he can’t go, Chris Vizzina is expected to make his second consecutive start.

The Tigers will be without two starters: WR Bryant Westco Jr. and OL Collin Sadler.

Final score:

Brad Senkiw: Clemson’s defense is not inspiring confidence coming off a poor showing against SMU, and Duke can move the football, ranking third in the ACC in total yards. Klubnik’s ankle is also another reason to be concerned about the Tigers. And with Westco done for the year, an explosive playmaker must emerge alongside T.J. Moore. Clemson desperately needs a strong November to gain bowl eligibility and keep this from being an even bigger disappointment of a season. While there aren’t many football reasons to go with the Tigers, Duke’s woes at Memorial Stadium are just too hard to overlook. Clemson gets a late field goal for a critical win.

Final score: Clemson 31, Duke 28
