Even in victory, Clemson couldn’t stop its slide. After edging Troy 27–16 at home, the Tigers fell three spots to No. 11in the Week 2 US LBM Coaches Poll. Dabo Swinney’s squad opened the year at No. 8 but continues to lose ground following a season-opening loss to LSU.
ACC Shake-Up
The ACC made waves across the Top 25 this week:
- Miami (FL) surged up to No. 6, its highest ranking in years, after another convincing win.
- Florida State jumped a whopping seven spots to No. 12, re-establishing itself as a contender.
- South Carolina broke into the Top 10 at No. 10, marking a major milestone for Shane Beamer’s program.
Meanwhile, Clemson is suddenly staring up at two of its biggest rivals in the poll — and the pressure is mounting.
Top of the Poll
The top four held strong, led by No. 1 Ohio State, which snagged 62 first-place votes after a 2–0 start. Penn State, Georgia, and LSU round out the top four, with Oregon climbing to No. 5.
Biggest Movers
- Florida State (+7) and Oklahoma (+8) made the largest leaps inside the Top 25.
- South Florida re-entered the poll in dramatic fashion, soaring to No. 23 after a 2–0 start.
- On the flip side, Michigan plummeted nine spots to No. 22, while Arizona State slid 14 places to No. 24 after a shaky start.
