On Saturday, December 28, the college football transfer portal window officially closed. Now, much of the off the field madness that has surrounded the sport will start to calm down just a bit. Of course, Clemson football fans are simply happy that the Tigers actually participated in the portal frenzy this year.

Thus far, Clemson has added two players via the portal. While that's a far cry from what more aggressive programs have done, it is a sign that head coach Dabo Swinney is starting to warm to the idea of using all available means to improve his roster.

What's more, just because the portal is closed, it does not mean that there won't be more player movement news this offseason. In fact, it is likely that Clemson will add more players from the portal before next season begins.

Players had until the end of December 28 to put their names in the portal. Now, with that deadline passed. players will have to wait until the spring portal window to put their name in the online database of available transfers. That window will be open from April 16-25, 2025 after most programs around the nation have completed spring football.

Another technicality with the portal is that players who are graduate transfers can enter the portal at any time. That includes even during the FBS winter and spring dead periods.

Also, keep in mind that players participating in a bowl game have a five-day window to enter the portal following their team's postseason game. Therefore, the teams that play in the National Championship Game on January 20 could see players enter the portal as late as January 25.

Finally, any players at a program that has changed head coaches have a 30-day window to enter the portal. That includes if a coach is fired or if a coach retires or resigns.

So with that said, here's a look at the transfer portal departures and arrivals for the Clemson football program this offseason. As the months go by, we'll continue to update this tracker so that fans can stay aware of what the Tigers are doing in the portal.
