Clemson men's soccer to host Providence in NCAA Tournament

After earning a first-round bye in the NCAA Tournament, the Clemson men's soccer team now knows its second-round opponent. Sunday at Riggs Field, the Tigers will take on Providence which beat Bucknell 2-1 on Thursday.

This marks the 10th time in 11 seasons the Tigers have earned a national seed and a first-round bye. It also marks the ninth time in 11 seasons the Tigers will open the NCAA Tournament at home.

Clemson ended the regular season with an 11-2-3 record and No. 2 seed in the ACC Tournament. Meanwhile, Providence is 13-5-3 overall and 5-2-1 away from home. They entered the postseason ranked No. 25 in the nation.

The game begins at 6 p.m. Eastern and can be seen on ESPN+.

Clemson women's basketball falls in Palmetto Series showdown

For a while in the first half of Wednesday's game against No. 1 South Carolina, the Clemson women's basketball team looked like it might be able to hang with the Gamecocks. However, the nation's best team proved too much for the Tigers to handle in a 77-45 home loss.

Graduate student Loyal McQueen led the Tigers with 15 points, while Mia Moore added 12 points and six rebounds. As a team, the Tigers made seven shots from beyond the 3-point arc but it wasn't enough to keep them in the game.

In the first half, the Tigers jumped out to a 17-12 lead as the home team held the lead for 11 minutes. However, a 23-0 run by the Gamecocks, one that began in the first half and continued after the intermission, proved to be the turning point in the game.

Clemson would be able to cut the deficit to no less than nine points after that. It was a valiant effort by the Tigers but the talent disparity between the two teams was just too much to overcome.

The Tigers return to the court November 25-26 when they play in the Emerald Coast Classic in Destin, Florida. They open the event by taking on UAB before playing either Alabama or Alabama State.

Clemson volleyball heads to the Sunshine State

A week after winning back-to-back conference games, their first two ACC victories of the season, the Clemson volleyball team heads to Florida for a pair of games this weekend.

Today, the Tigers face the Miami Hurricanes at 7 p.m. Eastern. Then, on Sunday at 1 p.m. Eastern, they will tangle with the Florida State Seminoles.

Miami is 9-7 overall but 5-2 at home. Meanwhile, Florida State is 10-6 overall and 5-2 at home as well. Meanwhile, the Tigers, who are in 16th place in the ACC, are winless (0-7) on the road this season.

Former Clemson football players on South Carolina Football Hall of Fame ballot

The South Carolina Football Hall of Fame (SCFHOF) has nominated 75 people for induction in the class of 2024 and 14 former Clemson Tigers are on the ballot.

The Clemson alums that can be voted for are Jeff Bryant, Brentson Buckner, Jerry Butler (Ware Shoals), Fred Cone (Legacy), Woody Dantzler (Orangeburg), Dexter Davis (Sumter), Rod Gardner, Kevin Mack, Ed McDaniel (Batesburg-Leesville), Anthony Simmons (Spartanburg), CJ Spiller, Jim Stuckey (Cayce), Perry Tuttle, and Donnell Woolford.
