Dabo Swinney and Clemson football got themselves a talented quarterback in the 2026 class in the form of dual-sport star Tait Reynolds.
The Queen Creek, Ariz., star committed to Clemson last summer and he's ranked the No. 20 quarterback in the 2026 class, per the 247Sports Composite, and he's also ranked No. 274 overall. This isn't the typical five-star blue-chipper that Swinney likes to go after at the quarterback position, but Reynolds isn't done rising in the recruiting rankings.
Plus, football may not even be his best sport.
According to a recent interview with On3's Chad Simmons, Reynolds said that he plans on playing both football and baseball when he gets to Clemson. He's planning on being a rare dual-sport star which we really never see anymore.
Clemson QB @TaitReynoldsQC of @QC_football will play both football and and baseball for the Tigers. π

We've seen some quarterbacks selected in the MLB Draft over the years like Kyler Murray and Russell Wilson. Could Reynolds be the next to join that mix? He has some work to do if he wants to be on the same level as those guys at the quarterback position, but he's a talented athlete.
Reynolds originally committed to Arizona State for baseball last June before committing to Clemson a few weeks later. The Tigers have one of the best baseball programs in the country.
When asked what he thought about playing both sports, Reynolds nonchalantly said that he's always done it and his dad has been giving him advice. He comes from an athletic family as his brother is a former Utah linebacker as well. We'll see just how he adjusts to two collegiate sports when he gets to Clemson, but he has his mind set on playing both.
If he excels at one, we may see him ditch the other. Or hopefully he'll be a plus player at both.
