There’s nothing like a spring Saturday in Death Valley, and today was proof. With 25,000 Tiger faithful roaring in Memorial Stadium, you could feel the energy crackling in the air. Sure, the Orange team took home a 23-3 win over the White, but let’s be honest—the real fireworks came from the quarterback duel between Christopher Vizzina and Tait Reynolds. This is the future of Clemson football, and it’s looking bright.

Christopher Vizzina: The Definition of Poise

Vizzina looked every bit the part of a future Tiger star, running the Orange offense with the poise of a seasoned vet. He went 10-for-18 for 95 yards, but the stat that jumps off the page? Zero sacks. Even with the crowd buzzing and the defense coming after him, Vizzina stood tall and cool in the pocket all day long.

The play that had the Valley rocking? Vizzina’s 8-yard dart to Gordon Sellars III for six in the second quarter. He was in sync with his receivers all afternoon, hitting Sellars III for a chain-moving 10-yarder, zipping a 13-yard strike to Christian Bentancur, and coming up clutch on third down with an 18-yard laser to Naeem Burroughs. He kept the offense humming, finding Bentancur again for nine more. When the dust settled, Vizzina’s passer rating sat at a rock-solid 118.2—just what you want to see from your QB1.

Tait Reynolds: The Gritty Dual-Threat Warrior

If Vizzina was the cool operator, Reynolds was the firestarter. He took snaps for both the White and Orange teams and made every one count, going 7-for-10 for 74 yards. No matter which jersey he wore, Reynolds brought juice to the huddle.

Running the White offense early, Reynolds wasted no time showing off his arm, rifling a 15-yarder to Juju Preston and a 13-yard bullet to Clark Sanderson—both moving the sticks. The defense got after him, sacking him four times, but Reynolds never blinked, coming back to hit Preston again for nine more.

Switching over to the Orange, Reynolds kept the fireworks coming. He showed off his wheels with a 1-yard touchdown run that had the crowd on its feet, then dialed up an 11-yarder to Tyler Brown and a 16-yard strike to Sellars III. Even late, he was still dealing, hitting Charlie Johnson for four and Chase Byrd for six. The defense got to him five times overall, but Reynolds’ combined effort—including a jaw-dropping 152.7 passer rating with the White—proved he’s a gamer through and through.

Tiger fans, the 2026 season cannot get here fast enough! Whether it is Vizzina's precision or Reynolds' gritty playmaking ability, the Tigers are clearly loaded at the most important position on the field.
