The 2025 Clemson football season is inching closer and closer and with spring ball officially in the books, that means we are in the home stretch to the opener against LSU.
Clemson had a successful spring which concluded with a fun scrimmage that featured the breakout of Tristan Smith at receiver. The Tigers proved once again that they have one of best receiving corps in the country and adding Smith to the mix just gives Cade Klubnik an embarrassment of riches.
Speaking of Klubnik, he enters the 2025 season as one of the top quarterbacks in the nation.
Klubnik passed for just over 3,600 yards with 36 touchdowns and six interceptions. He completed 63 percent of his passes and had a career-high QB rating. It was his best season as a starter and it feels like he's only getting better, and with the weapons around him, there's no doubt that he will be one of the best quarterbacks in the country again.
On3 actually ranked the top quarterbacks in the country for 2025 and Klubnik appeared on the list near the top. He was No. 3 behind DJ Lagway and LaNorris Sellers.

Do you agree? 🤔https://t.co/btFTzTxmYd pic.twitter.com/D5NicE3hJJ
I get the dual-threat ability making Sellers an attractive top-three quarterback in the country, but Klubnik has also shown he can run with the ball and he's arguably a better passer. He doesn't have as good of a completion rate as Sellers, but this ranking seems to be based on potential, especially with Lagway at No. 1.
If we're going based strictly on production and past results, I would think that Klubnik has a legitimate case to be No. 1 and it would be difficult to argue against it.
Looks like expectations for the senior quarterback are through the roof.
