After a short break from the national conversation, the Tigers stormed back into the spotlight, slamming the door on No. 18 Virginia with a statement sweep. That kind of dominance doesn’t go unnoticed: Softball America put Clemson right back where they belong, slotting the Tigers at No. 24 in the nation on Monday.
The message out of Tigertown couldn’t be clearer: step onto our turf, and you’re leaving with an L.

Friday night, the Tigers came out swinging—literally—blasting their way to a 12-4 mercy-rule rout in just six innings. Power set the tone, but Saturday was all about heart and hustle.
Abby Dunning and Macey Cintron teamed up in the circle to form an unstoppable duo, holding Virginia to just three hits all game. The offense backed them up when it mattered most, with Corri Hicks launching a clutch two-run shot in the second to lock down a 3-1 win. That’s the kind of gritty, tournament-tested softball that puts fear in the rest of the ACC.
Senior Day Send-Off
Sunday was bigger than just finishing the sweep—it was about celebrating the seniors who laid the foundation for Clemson Softball. Sierra Maness made sure her final regular season home game was one for the memory books.
Maness was locked in from the first pitch, spinning a complete-game gem for her 16th win of the year. Even with five walks, she never blinked, holding Virginia to just two hits and leaving their hitters shaking their heads.
While Maness kept Virginia quiet, the Bomb Squad brought the fireworks. Clemson plated runs in each of the first four innings, with Mac Pavese, Taylor Pipkins, and Kylie Channell all going yard. By the time the Tigers wrapped up the 6-1 win, the brooms were waving and the crowd was roaring.
Looking Ahead: The Gauntlet Continues
Clemson is back in the rankings at No. 24, sandwiched between Washington and Southeastern Louisiana. Nebraska might be sitting at the top, but Tiger eyes are locked on a much bigger prize right now: taking down No. 10 Duke.
Before the Tigers head to Durham for a massive three-game set starting Friday, they’ll return to McWhorter on Tuesday night to host Presbyterian. With back-to-back ACC series wins under their belt and the national respect back on their name, these Tigers are peaking at exactly the right time.
