After rumors circulated on social media the past few days, it's finally official. Four-star Clemson commit Tae Harris has flipped to Georgia Tech. He announced is decision on X (formerly Twitter), with the caption, "Making history."
One by one, recruiting sites like On3 Sports and 247Sports submitted crystal balls suggesting Harris would make the move west. He's the fifth decommitment since August. With Harris gone, Clemson's 2025n class shrinks to 13 total commitments with six total decommitments.
Dabo Swinney has vocally shared his displeasure with NIL and the transfer portal, and this is the natural consequence. Clemson has hemorrhaged players in the portal the last three seasons, but until now, it's been able to replace those players with high school recruiting.
Without a change in philosophy, Swinney is going to put Clemson in a bind that might take years to unwind, even if he's let go in the future. Hopefully, the two-time head coach can adapt a little to give the Tigers a chance.
