The hits just keep coming for Clemson baseball. With the NCAA transfer portal swinging wide open on Monday, June 1, 2026, Tiger fans got another gut punch as electric outfielder Bryce Clavon threw his name into the portal. Another day, another key piece gone.

Clavon's Clemson career ends after just one season in the Upstate, and his exit piles onto Coach Erik Bakich's already massive summer to-do list.

A Toolsy, Versatile Weapon on the Move

Clavon came to Clemson from Georgia last offseason and wasted no time making his mark in the Tigers' lineup. Even though he was a middle infielder by trade, he stepped up and took over center field when the team needed him, and scouts raved about how smooth he looked chasing down balls in the gaps.

After barely seeing the field at Georgia, Clavon became a key piece for Clemson in 2026, showing off his rare mix of pop at the plate and wheels on the bases.

From High School All-American to Third Collegiate Stop

Clavon was a big-time get out of Kell High School in Georgia, earning All-American honors and landing at No. 51 in the national recruiting rankings.

He barely got a shot as a freshman at Georgia, playing in 27 games but starting just once and picking up five hits. Coming to Clemson gave him the chance to prove himself, and he showed he could handle the grind of ACC baseball. Now, Clavon will try to turn that experience into a starting job at his next stop.

The Great Roster Reset Continues

Clavon leaving is the second gut punch for Clemson's lineup on Monday, coming right after the shocker that All-ACC slugger Nate Savoie is also heading for the portal. Add in bullpen arms Noah Samol and Peyton Miller, and this roster shakeup is officially in overdrive.

Coach Bakich and his staff are clearing the decks and getting ready to go all-in on the transfer market. The mission is clear: reload, retool, and get Clemson back in the hunt for Omaha in 2027.
