Raise your hand if you thought Chad Morris was holding the Clemson offense back throughout the season. Yup, you're not alone there - and my hand is also up. Plain and simple, it was my opinion that Morris should have been fired weeks ago, and that he wasn't helping out true freshman quarterback Tait Reynolds at all.

Boy, do I feel like a bit of an idiot right now. Give Morris his flowers for what he was able to get done in Tallahassee in the 36-24 win over the Seminoles. Throughout the night, Morris' play-calling was nothing short of brilliant, especially in the first half.

Because of Morris, Reynolds was able to have a game to remember, throwing for 189 yards and two touchdowns, while adding his unforgettable 79-yard touchdown run to seal the win. Those two working together looked brilliant, and it made life even worse for FSU coach Mike Norvell, who is now out of a job.

Tait Reynolds shared an incredible Chad Morris story right after beating the Seminoles

As you probably could have guessed, Reynolds himself was pretty jacked up after the final whistle. He showed incredible selflessness, too, giving credit to his offensive line for making plays in front of him. On top of that, the cameras also caught Reynolds JACKED up yelling into a headset while speaking with Morris.

As it turns out, Reynolds said he recalled a moment with Morris where the two talked about one of his amazing runs in high school where he took off for a long TD. Reynolds was ready to remind him of that convo right after his 79-yarder that broke countless hearts at Doak Campbell Stadium.

“I am sitting there, about to go to bed, I got class in the morning, and he (Morris) was like, ‘What are you doing?’ and I said, ‘I am about to go to bed man, lights are off and everything. He said, ‘I am watching your high school tape,’ and I was like, ‘What is going on?’ He said, ‘Why don’t you run like this in a game.’ I was like, ‘Damn! Maybe I need to pick it up,’” Reynolds recalled via The Clemson Insider.

So, not only did Morris remind Reynolds of what he was able to get done, but the first-year quarterback recorded a bit of a blast from the past to get it done. No wonder Reynolds was so dang happy about this. As you can see, the relationship between QB and OC is pretty tight.

Now heading into Week 10, Clemson's offense is going to have a ton of confidence going up against a tough Syracuse side. Reynolds will be ready to keep things going, especially after he was able to get into a groove in throwing the ball a bit. Will the receivers clean up the silly drops? We hope so, as those kinds of mistakes can't happen if the Tigers want to post back-to-back ACC wins. That'll be a problem for Nov. 7, though. Until then, Morris will likely continue to get praise, and he deserves it.
