Clemson just landed a cornerstone for the future, and this one hits close to home. Lifelong ties and in-state pride carried the day.
Four-star defensive tackle Seth Tillman made it official Saturday afternoon, picking Clemson over Georgia, Michigan, and South Carolina. This is a massive win for Dabo Swinney and staff, giving the Tigers their 25th pledge in the 2027 class and locking in a top-10 haul nationally.
This commitment means even more for the Tillman family. Seth’s father, Reginald, passed away Tuesday after a long illness. Saturday’s decision is more than just a recruiting headline—it’s a tribute to his dad and the dream they shared.

A Lifelong Dream Comes True
For Tillman, putting on the Clemson paw has been the goal for years. The 6-3, 300-pounder has been showing up at Dabo Swinney’s summer camps since he was a kid.
Last summer, his hard work paid off in a big way. Tillman dominated at camp and earned one of Clemson’s first offers for the class.
That early connection made all the difference. Tillman kept coming back to campus, including the Elite Retreat in March and a key official visit from June 12-14.
Beating Out the National Powers
Landing Tillman was no cakewalk. Georgia was the early favorite, and Michigan made a strong push late after winning the national title.
But Nick Eason and Dabo Swinney closed strong. By getting Tillman on campus for his last official visit, Clemson took back control and never let go. Once again, the Tigers keep top in-state talent at home.
Tillman brings size, quickness, and power to the middle. He’ll team up with fellow in-state tackle Jaden Wuerth from Dutch Fork, who committed in the spring. That’s a homegrown duo that should anchor Clemson’s defensive front for years.
With Tillman officially on board, Clemson adds another blue-chip athlete evaluated universally as one of the country's premium front-seven prospects.
By locking down the Rock Hill native, Clemson finishes off its defensive class with a bang. Tillman’s rise from camp kid to future anchor in Death Valley sends a clear message: the Tigers still own the state.
