Are you looking for a Clemson football breakout star to keep an eye on this spring? Look no further than freshman sensation Gideon Davidson.

The newcomer and former blue-chip recruit has been drawing comparisons to Travis Etienne while earning praise from coaches and teammates all spring long and star receiver Antonio Williams even chimed in and added to the growing list of believers.

Garrett Riley called Davidson a natural earlier this spring, Dabo Swinney had his own praise for the first-year back, and now Williams is heaping praise onto his new teammate.

The soon-to-be junior receiver said that he could see why Davidson was so highly rated, per Will Vandervort of TheClemsonInsider.

"His burst and his cuts. He is very confident and natural as a ball-carrier, as most running backs are. But he was signed here for a reason. He was a highly touted guy around the country. I can see why."

The Tigers are looking for their starting running back this spring after losing Phil Mafah after a 1,000-yard season. Having a quarterback who can also carry the ball takes some pressure off the new starting running back, but I'm not sure that Davidson needs that much help, given that he's already earning all this praise and reportedly getting second-team reps in practice.

Davidson has the body, the potential, and the skillset to become one of the best first-year players in college football this season and with every player or coach quote that comes out about him, it feels like he's going to be one of the top breakout stars in the country.

It feels like only a matter of time before Davidson takes over as RB1 this season.
