Coach Dabo Swinney alerted the media that the Tigers will be without wide receiver Tyler Brown for the third consecutive game, fourth in total, on Saturday against Louisville.
Brown has dealt with an ankle injury for most of the season. His initial injury came against Appalachian State, where he recorded only one reception for -2 yards. After missing the NC State game, Brown appeared against Stanford and Florida State but saw little action.
When asked about Brown's potential to redshirt, coach Swinney said, “I mean, that’s a possibility for sure, with where he is with the amount of games that he’s played. We have five games left, so if he misses a couple of more, then that is a decision." That might be the case, with Swinney describing Brown as "week-to-week."
Last season, Brown broke out as a true freshman after Cole Turner's season-ending injury against FAU. The 5-foot-10-inch, 180-pounder caught 14 passes for 237 yards the following two games against Florida State and Syracuse. His numbers dipped in the middle of the season but finished strong in the last three games.
