RTR staff divided on Clemson-Carolina game
There are only a few more hours until the Tigers play their season finale against South Carolina. It's the 121st game of the rivalry, and it may be the most important to date.
Clemson's had a few games this season that it wishes it could have back. However, most of this season's opponents were easy work for the Tigers. South Carolina, on the other hand, will be a different story.
The Gamecocks are a battle-tested group with a very good defensive line. Their quarterback LaNorris Sellers has turned into a genuine dual threat, and they also have a great running game with Raheim "Rocket" Sanders in the backfield.
Clemson's offense has been tested a few times this season, but USC will be the biggest since week one against Georgia, but it's no Georgia. Here, the RTR staff give their thoughts and predictions for tomorrow's game.

Austin
South Carolina poses a big threat to Clemson's potential playoff run, its first in four years. The Gamecocks are especially dangerous on the defensive line. Kyle Kennard and true freshman Dylan Stewart are the real deal on the Edge. Clemson's offensive line has improved immensely since last season, but tomorrow will be the ultimate litmus test, and with a few linemen banged up, it'll be hard to pass.
However, that's the only position where USC has a clear edge. The Tigers defensive line is still one of the best in college football. And unlike Clemson, South Carolina's offensive line is tenth-worst at protecting the quarterback. There's also a clear edge at quarterback and wide receiver. Regardless, the game most likely ends up a defensive battle, where Clemson ekes out a victory.
