Tyler Atkinson is in the middle of his summer official visit schedule and while he just visited Clemson football last weekend, he's currently in Eugene checking out Oregon.
While he has teams like Alabama, Georgia, and Ohio State high on his list, he has yet to schedule official visits with them and it makes you wonder if he's waiting for the fall for that to happen. If that's the case, Clemson may want to try to get him back one more time for a fall visit, too, but it would have to be in an unofficial manner.
Atkinson was just on his official visit last weekend and it sounded like everything went better than he expected. The Tigers made a huge impression on the five-star linebacker.
"No team has come on stronger with five-star LB Tyler Atkinson this spring than Clemson."
If you're a Clemson fan, that's something you have to love to hear. He's one of the best prospects in the entire country, ranked No. 9 overall in the class and he's the No. 1 linebacker, per 247Sports. If he was blown away on his visit to Clemson, that has to be a good thing considering he has just one other official visit planned. Could this lead to a two-team race? Potentially, but Dabo Swinney has to like where he stands.
Atkinson has over 50 offers and there are some legit powerhouse programs in the running for him. He holds a crystal ball to Georgia but these visits could change that.
This would be a massive win for Clemson and Dabo.
