During the Dabo Swinney era of Clemson football, the Tigers have fielded some elite quarterbacks from Tajh Boyd to Deshaun Watson to Trevor Lawrence and now they have Cade Klubnik.
A serious discussion needs to be had about who the real 'QBU' is and if we're going by All-Americans who got legit shots in the NFL, Clemson at least deserves a seat at the table. The Tigers have two starting quarterbacks in the league and they're likely sending another to the NFL in 2026 as Klubnik is considered a top-five prospect next year's draft.
When Clemson has elite quarterback play, it's usually competing for national titles. Boyd walked so Watson could run and win the national title in 2016 before giving way for Lawrence to win in 2018 before flirting with a couple more.
Dabo knows the value of an elite quarterback and when he targets one, it's usually game over.
However, Swinney sent out a few offers to top quarterbacks in the 2027 class this past weekend, and it shows that he's not going all-in on Peyton Houston -- although I'd argue he's still the top target.
Clemson flooding the zone with 2027 QB offers over the last 24 hours:

-4⭐ Kharim Hughley (Ga.)
-4⭐Teddy Jarrard (Ga.)
-4⭐Trent Seaborn (Ala.)
And the Tigers had already offered another four-star, Peyton Houston (La.), at the position. Not going all in on just one.
There's a decent chance the Tigers could take two quarterbacks in the 2027 class, especially if Klubnik's replacement in 2026 doesn't pan out, but I have my money on Christopher Vizzina succeeding. Still, Dabo isn't putting all his eggs in one basket, extending offers to Kharim Hughley, Teddy Jarrard, and Trent Seaborn this past weekend.
Hughley is a 5-foot-11, 190-pound quarterback from Georgia who is ranked No. 190 nationally and No. 14 at his position, per the 247Sports Composite. Jarrard is also a four-star, ranked No. 217 nationally and the 6-foot-3, 190-pound passer is the No. 17 quarterback in the class out of Georgia. Lastly, Seaborn is from Alabama and the 6-foot-1, 200-pound gunslinger is ranked No. 215 overall and he's the No. 16 quarterback in the class.
In total, Clemson offered three of the top 17 quarterbacks in the 2027 class over the holiday weekend and they're up there on the target list with Houston.
