A Clemson football offer was something that three-star wideout Devin Fitzgerald was anxiously awaiting when he planned his official visit for May 30.

Although he had yet to receive an offer from Dabo Swinney and the Tigers, he had Clemson high on his list of top schools and was hoping to land one during his visit. Fortunately, that did happen as the son of NFL wide receiver legend Larry Fitzgerald was offered the day after getting to campus.

Honestly, it seemed like this would be the tipping point for Fitzgerald who also had upcoming trips to Stanford, Notre Dame, and North Carolina planned. He was already very high on Clemson and finally received his offer, so maybe the rest of the visits were just going through the motions until he committed.

Now, it looks like that's not the case.

Fitzgerald was hoping for that Clemson offer and loved his official visit, but his trip to Notre Dame on June 13 may have just decided his recruitment.

On Tuesday, On3 recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong logged a prediction for Notre Dame to land the talented wide receiver with elite NFL bloodlines. And if you know anything about Wiltfong, his predictions are taken as gospel in the recruiting landscape.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound wideout from Phoenix, Ariz., is ranked the No. 484 overall recruit in the 2026 class and it looks like he may be saying "no thanks" to Dabo to join a rival in Notre Dame.

Tough recruiting loss if this pans out the way Wiltfong believes it will on his July 5 commitment date.

Fortunately, Clemson has some really good receivers committed in its 2026 class in Connor Salmin, Naeem Burroughs, and Gordon Sellars, but adding an NFL legend's son would have been the cherry on top of an elite pass-catching class.

There are still two weeks for Dabo to change his mind.
