Some big names are leaving the Clemson basketball program this offseason, such as Chase Hunter, Jaeden Zackery (possibly returning), Viktor Lakhin, Ian Schieffelin, and Chauncey Wiggins, while a couple of other deep bench guys are also moving on.
That's right, Asa Thomas and Del Jones opted to enter the transfer portal on Monday with Wiggins, ensuring that Brad Brownell has a busy offseason ahead.
The losses of Hunter, Zackery, and Jones have greatly impacted the backcourt which means that Brownell will have to make some major moves in the transfer portal if he wants to avoid a rebuild and fill some big shoes.
Well, a massive name hit the transfer portal on Tuesday and while Clemson hasn't been linked to him yet, this is a guy who I think Brownell needs to make a push for because he could be a legitimate superstar and go-to option next season for the Tigers.
Mountain West Player of the Year Donovan Dent has entered the transfer portal, per @TiptonEdits

Is this a pipe dream? Possibly, but why not Clemson? Dent was just playing at New Mexico and led the Lobos to the NCAA Tournament and a win over Marquette, so why wouldn't he want to join a Clemson squad two years removed from an Elite Eight and one year removed from a record-breaking 27-win season? The draw has to be there, especially with the backcourt opening up.
The Tigers need guards and Dent could be a guy who comes in, builds his draft stock, and pushes for an ACC title. This would be a good spot for him, especially since the ACC has major conference draw and yet is winnable for Clemson as it has been one of the only contenders over the past two years.
Dent is the Mountain West Player of the Year and will have everyone ringing his phone, but Brownell needs to make some early moves here and get him to at least entertain the Tigers.
