One of the top transfers in the portal has his sights set on Clemson basketball.
Nick Davidson, an All-Mountain West second-team selection, recently said that Clemson was one of the early schools to reach out when he hit the transfer portal, but now he's narrowing his list.
According to Joe Tipton, the Nevada transfer is down to five schools with Clemson making the cut along with Virginia, Washington, Texas, and Notre Dame.
That's a very winnable top five for Brad Brownell and Co.

Davidson is a 6-foot-10 forward who averaged 15.8 points and 6.5 rebounds for a 17-16 Nevada team this past season, really breaking out as a star for the Wolf Pack.
It's pretty obvious that Clemson could use pretty much anyone at this point to fill out a roster that lost eight guys from this year's team to both graduation and the transfer portal, including four starters. This team needs plenty of help in order to avoid a rebuild next season and landing a guy like Davidson would give this team a nice inside-out replacement for Ian Schieffelin and Viktor Lakhin.
Davidson is skilled enough to play on the wing, too, as he shot over 37 percent from deep, a career-best. He also averaged 1.2 blocks and 0.8 steals per game, showing that he's not just an offensive threat. He crashes the boards, protects the rim, and doesn't give up anything easy.
If I'm predicting Clemson's top threat in this recruitment, it would have to be Texas but don't count out Virginia which is trying to get back to the top of the sport and Davidson could be a key piece for the turnaround.
If he wants to win now, however, Clemson may be his best bet.
