Although the conclusion of the 2024-25 season wasn't how Brad Brownell and Clemson basketball had planned, the Tigers are already hard at work on the roster for next season.

The Tigers will be losing guys like Chase Hunter, Jaeden Zackery (potentially returning), Ian Schieffelin, and Viktor Lakhin, so that means Brownell has to replace some big shoes.

And he's already working on that, reaching out to Nevada transfer Nick Davidson.

The Nevada transfer would be a nice post addition at 6-foot-10 and 238 pounds because he does a little of everything. He averaged 15.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.2 blocks while shooting 50 percent from the floor and 37 percent from deep.

If that doesn't sound like the ideal replacement for Schieffelin and Lakhin and would ensure that 2025-26 wouldn't be a "rebuilding" year for the Tigers though some fear it may be.

Clemson is trying to become a more serious basketball program and Brownell has done a good job of putting it on the map and leading it to the top-half of the ACC over the past few years. The Elite Eight run last year really got the excitement flowing and this season was supposed to end in a special run, too, after winning a school record 27 games before the NCAA Tournament.

Unfortunately, McNeese had other ideas.

However, this is the perfect offseason for Brownell to show the rest of the country that the past two seasons were no fluke and piece together a squad that will compete for an ACC title again.

Landing a coveted guy like Davidson would be a nice start.
