Clemson baseball fans, get ready to roar. Coach Erik Bakich just pulled off another recruiting coup, landing a big-time, power-hitting catcher to supercharge the Tigers' 2027 roster. This is the kind of move that signals Clemson is all-in on chasing Omaha.
Former Southern Cal standout Isaac Cadena is officially a Tiger, and his arrival instantly injects veteran swagger and top-tier on-base skills into Clemson’s already dangerous lineup.
Cadena comes to Tigertown fresh off a monster junior season in the Big Ten, where he was a force in the heart of the Trojans’ order. In 2026, he started 61 of 63 games, hit .294, blasted eight homers, and drove in 36 runs. That’s the kind of production Clemson fans can get fired up about.

Cadena’s patience and baseball IQ made life miserable for pitchers all season. He racked up 40 walks and posted a .425 on-base percentage, numbers that show just how tough he is to keep off the bases.
He also showed off his pop with 16 doubles, just one shy of the team lead, and finished with a .505 slugging percentage and a .930 OPS. Add in his strong glove work behind the plate, and Bakich just landed a true two-way difference-maker.
Cadena is no stranger to the big stage. He started his college journey at Ohio State, then made noise at TCU, where he hammered eight homers and drove in 34 runs in 2025, helping the Horned Frogs make a postseason run. Now, he’s ready to bring that experience and fire to anchor Clemson’s catching corps.
Cadena’s winning pedigree goes all the way back to his days at El Dorado High, where he was named Offensive Player of the Year and took home a Gold Glove. Now, as he gears up for his senior season in the ACC, his arrival gives Clemson’s lineup even more firepower. This is the kind of addition that can push the Tigers closer to a championship run.
