Fall baseball is in full swing for the Clemson Tigers, and one Clemson Tiger is getting some attention for his potential he brings to Clemson baseball as a transfer player.

Losing in their home sectional, Clemson baseball is hoping to add talent and take that next step to get past the sectional tournament. One addition that the Tigers will have is Georgia transfer Bryce Clavon. Clavon was a two-sport athlete in high school and held major Division I offers as a dual-threat quarterback.

In 15 at-bats over 27 games at Georgia, Clavon hit .333 with 1.207 OPS, one home run, and two RBIs as a freshman at Georgia. Clavon saw the field playing second base, left field, right field, and center field. An outfielder who can play second base is a great piece for head coach Erik Bakich to have on the roster for added flexibility in his lineups.

Former top football recruit to Clemson baseball utility man

Class of 2024 dual-threat quarterback from Marietta, Georgia, Clavon was a three-star quarterback recruit according to 247Sports before deciding to enroll at Georgia for baseball. Clavon received scholarships from Oklahoma, Indiana, and Appalachian State to play quarterback. The Marietta, Georgia, native was the AAAAA Region 6 Player of the Year in 2022, throwing for 2,688 yards, going 160-236 (67.8 completion percentage), adding 24 touchdowns on just eight interceptions. Clavon also added 91 carries for 789 yards and 15 rushing touchdowns in 2022.

Clavon was graded a 10 from Perfect Game coming out of high school. Perfect Game also had Clavon as the second-ranked shortstop from the state of Georgia in the class of 2024.

Now Clavon will be a new Clemson Tiger for the 2026 season. College baseball media company, D1 Baseball, recently posted about Clavon and the incoming baseball transfers for Clemson baseball.

“He’s a potential walking highlight reel who was a dual-threat quarterback in high school that had several D-I offers,” about Clavon on September 29.

Clavon will join the 2026 Tigers, hoping to get the bad taste of losing a home regional out of its mouth. Could Clavon and the rest of the transfers be the missing piece to help replace the 43rd pick of the 2025 MLB Draft, Cam Cannarella? We will have to wait until Clemson starts their 2026 season to see how much impact Clavon and the other transfers can have for the Tigers.
