You can never have too many offensive weapons and the Clemson Tigers are trying to land one of the top playmakers in the class of 2026.

Over the years, Clemson football has produced some elite wide receivers. Legends like DeAndre Hopkins, Sammy Watkins, and Tee Higgins have all lit up the college football world while calling Clemson home.

Of course, the pursuit for the next great Clemson wide receiver is always ongoing and one player in the Tigers' sights is Cederian Morgan. The Alabama native is one of the top players in America in the class of 2026 and according to an X post by Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports, he's narrowed his list of potential schools to ten. Fortunately, one of the programs still in the running is Clemson.

Also still in the mix for Morgan's services are Auburn, Ohio State, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Oregon, Colorado, and Miami. Thus, this recruiting battle will be fierce.

247Sports ranks Morgan a 5-star prospect. That site also lists him as the No. 10 overall player and No. 2 wide receiver in the country for the class of 2026. Meanwhile, On3 ranks Morgan as the No. 3 WR prospect in his class.

The 6-foot-4, 210-pounder is a native of Alexander City, Alabama. Thus, it will be tough to pull him out of SEC country. In fact, On3 Sports lists Auburn as the favorite to land him. That site gives those Tigers an 85.3% chance of coming out on top. Meanwhile, On3 gives Clemson a less than 1% chance.

That won't stop head coach Dabo Swinney and Co. from trying to bring Morgan to Clemson. If that happens, the Tigers will have an elite wide receiver pipeline developing.

In 2025, Antonio Williams will return for his fourth season at Clemson. This past fall, he led the team with 75 catches, 904 yards, and 11 touchdowns.

Also set to return next season is T.J. Moore. As a true freshman in 2024, he pulled in 45 passes for 651 yards and five touchdowns. He certainly has the potential to be a future No. 1 wide receiver.

However, in the 2025 recruiting class, Clemson hauled in only one wide receiver. That was Carleton Preston, who is just a 3-star prospect, not a blue-chip recruit.

In the class of 2026, Clemson has yet to land a pass catcher. However, Swinney and his staff are swinging for the fences by trying to bring Morgan to campus. Hopefully, he will want to become the next in a long line of great Clemson wide receivers.
