As a coach, you have to love it when your recruits are doing some of their own recruiting. What does this mean? When you have commits in a certain class reaching out to and trying to sway other recruits to join the fold, that does wonders for coaches.
Dabo Swinney has to be thrilled with what he's seeing from his 2026 Clemson football commits.
While they're always doing a little recruiting of their own, you love to see when it's posted on social media. These commits are willing to do whatever it takes to improve their recruiting class because they want to play with the best players and chase a national title.
Chancellor Barclay took some recruiting efforts into his own hands this weekend as he posted a video with 2026 cornerback target Danny Odem who just made it to campus as a late addition to the jam-packed visitor list.
Honestly, this also helps the coaching staff a ton when they have massive recruiting weekends like the one Dabo is currently hosting. There are over 30 recruits on campus and it's next to impossible to get the amount of one-on-one time necessary to convince a kid to commit on the spot, but when other commits are in their ear, it helps.
Barclay seems to have a strong relationship with Odem who is one of the most coveted recruits in the country, holding 50 (!!) offers as a four-star cornerback from Florida. The two are teammates at The First Academy in Orlando, Fla., which helps Clemson's chances immensely.
Let's hope Barclay is doing this with some other priority targets this weekend.
