Only the best can spot the best, no matter how far they are from the hallowed ground of Death Valley.
Clemson’s own Dabo Swinney, the man who’s built a dynasty in orange, made his way out west on Wednesday to visit Boise State. There, on the Broncos’ famous blue turf at Albertsons Stadium, Swinney linked up with Boise State head coach Spencer Danielson, and you could feel the national respect pouring in for our championship legend.
After their meeting, Danielson was so fired up he jumped on social media to post a photo of the two coaches together, and Tiger Nation watched as the internet lit up with praise for the greatest coach to ever wear orange.
“Fired up to have my man Coach Dabo Swinney on the Blue today!” Danielson wrote.
He didn’t stop there, putting into words what every Clemson fan has known for almost twenty years by calling Swinney an:
“Elite human being and mentor!”

A Masterclass in Championship Pedigree
It’s no wonder the brightest young coaches in the game are eager to soak up wisdom from Swinney. Our Tigers’ fearless leader owns a jaw-dropping 187-53 record, making him not just Clemson’s all-time winningest coach, but the winningest coach in ACC history. That’s the kind of legacy that makes Tiger fans proud.
With Swinney at the helm, the Tigers have racked up nine ACC titles, including a jaw-dropping eight in the last eleven years. He’s led Clemson to seven trips to the College Football Playoff, and let’s not forget that incredible stretch of six straight playoff appearances from 2015 to 2020. That’s the stuff of legends.
No active coach in America has reached the national championship game more times than Swinney’s four trips. Only he and Kirby Smart can claim multiple national titles right now. And if you want consistency, look no further: Clemson has won at least 10 games in 13 of the last 15 seasons under Swinney. That’s dominance, plain and simple.
Roster Evolution on the Blue Turf
Danielson knows a thing or two about winning in a hurry, which makes his respect for Swinney all the more meaningful. Heading into his fourth season leading the Broncos in 2026, Danielson has already brought home three straight Mountain West titles. That puts him in rare company—only Lincoln Riley at Oklahoma has matched that feat in his first three years.
Before taking over full-time, Danielson had a quick three-week run as interim head coach in 2023. Then he delivered a spectacular 2024 season, guiding the nationally ranked Broncos to 12 wins—their best mark since 2019—and their first trip ever to the College Football Playoff.
Now, as Danielson gets ready to guide Boise State from the Mountain West into the new-look Pac-12, he’s turning to Swinney for advice. No matter where Coach Swinney goes, the power of the Clemson Paw commands respect across the college football landscape.
