Heading into the 2025 season, Clemson has the most returning production of any team in the Power Four which is a scary thought considering the Tigers are fresh off another playoff berth. But what that doesn't factor in is the elite incoming talent, too.
While a lot of teams will be focused on newcomers from the transfer portal (Clemson does have three solid transfers), the Tigers will be eyeing elite prospects from the 2025 class. One of those elite prospects that will need to be accounted for is five-star Amare Adams from Forence, S.C., who might just be the next star along that defensive line.
I'm not the only one who believes that Adams is going to be really good right away. Some experts are even considering him one of the best freshmen in college football.
According to a ranking by 247Sports, Adams is listed as one of the 10 true freshmen from around college football generating the most hype heading into 2025.
"First-year Tigers defensive coordinator Tom Allen singled out Adams early as a talent wise beyond his years and someone who "sticks out physically" given his imposing size. At 6-4, 285 pounds, Adams reportedly moves extremely well and will play in his first season."247Sports on Amare Adams
Adams joins a loaded defensive line that also has TJ Parker and Peter Woods who are both projected first-round picks next year but he still has shown plenty of promise early on. Plus, he's an athletic 6-foot-4, 315-pound defensive tackle who can move, so what's not to love? Even 247Sports says he's projected as a future first-rounder.
I don't know about you, but I'm excited to see Parker, Woods, and Adams dominate opposing offensive lines all season long. Three future first-rounders on the same line? Yes, please.
