For Bryant Wesco, 2026 isn’t about looking back at last season’s heartbreak. It’s about charging forward, eyes locked on what’s next for him and for Clemson.
Wesco burst onto the scene as one of Clemson’s brightest young stars, electrifying Death Valley with every catch. But just as he was hitting his stride, a neck injury slammed the brakes on his 2025 season, leaving Tiger Nation holding its breath. Now, those worries are in the rearview mirror.
“I’m just so happy to be back with the team, you know, going up against the defense,” Wesco said on Clemson's 2 Right Turns Podcast. “It’s just a different level.”
Before the injury, Wesco had already shown Tiger fans exactly what he could do. As a true freshman in 2024, he lit up the stat sheet with 708 yards and five touchdowns, playing a huge role in bringing another ACC trophy home to Tigertown.
There’s one moment Wesco will never forget: his first touchdown in Death Valley. The roar from the Clemson faithful was so thunderous, it nearly knocked him off his feet.
“The fans got so loud, it was so loud in that stadium on that play,” Wesco said on Clemson Athletics’t. “During that play, it kind of scared me, as soon as I caught the ball, the crowd’s roar.”
Now that Wesco is healthy, he’s got a golden chance to write a new chapter in 2026. After a tough 7-6 season, Clemson is hungry to get back on top, and a big year from one of the Tigers’ most electric playmakers could be the spark that sets Death Valley on fire again.
