The Internet is a raucous place, and Clemson’s poor start has inspired some outrageous opinions on Dabo Swinney. Here’s a few tough takes since the Tigers’ most recent losses.
Dabo Swinney is gonna be elite on a pregame studio desk next season.

Swinney has been quite clear. He’s not old, and if Clemson doesn’t want what he’s got, he’ll find someone who does. Swinney is a program builder, and there are plenty of schools who would welcome his leadership.
And Clemson fans deserve better from Dabo. We should not be getting blamed for his lackluster season year in and year out.

The sense of entitlement Clemson fans enjoy is almost entirely due to Swinney’s success. His identity is deeply ingrained in this program, and, were he to leave, the consequences would be rough. If fans so desperately want to win now that they think he should be fired, they likely would not appreciate what bringing in a new coach would mean. How are Alabama fans coping with their new coach these days?

Swinney has raised his family and built his life in Clemson. He’s hired (sometimes controversially) former players, friends, and family to his staff. The idea that he is actually looking for a way out is absurd.
Dabo Swinney has reached the "John Calipari at Kentucky" era of his career.

He didn't forget how to coach. But he's been there a decade-plus and his message is no longer resonating.
It almost certainly won't happen.
But he could probably use a fresh start somewhere else pic.twitter.com/zSIBnztKdS
That Swinney could have immediate success if he went to another program is a wild idea and ignores the path he has taken in his rise to prominence. Whether his message still resonates at Clemson remains to be seen.
Dabo Swinney has become a national embarrassment.

Lectured everyone how he didn’t need the portal. How he’s been a winner.
Now he’s the biggest loser in college football. Down 24-7 to Syracuse at home. Firing him has to be on the table for Clemson pic.twitter.com/PLQr8V9oH3
This one came before the game was even over. If seven Playoff appearances, four Championship games, and two National Titles in the last ten years are an embarrassment, the vast majority of programs in this league should light everything on fire, replace their rosters with transfers, and fire their coaches immediately. A couple of less than perfect seasons and one bad start do not warrant this level of panic.
