Another successful spring is in the books for Dabo Swinney and Clemson football and it looks like the Tigers are going to be one of the nation's top contenders for the national title.
Experts have been pegging the Tigers are the best squad from the ACC and a likely top-five team heading into the 2025 season. Some have even ranked Clemson No. 1 in their post-spring top 25 projections. It's still early, but the hype feels real.
There's still a long way to go before the start of the season and the much-anticipated opener against LSU, but I'm going to provide a few reasons that we should all be buying stock now.
1. Cade Klubnik
A strong spring to follow up a career year? Yeah, the hype surrounding Cade Klubnik is real and it's only going to intensify as the season draws nearer.
Klubnik just accounted for 4,100 total yards and 43 touchdowns last season and he's been considered the top returning quarterback in college football for 2025. I tend to agree there and it looks like he's got one thing on his mind heading into the fall: a national title.
While personal accolades are fine, Klubnik would be the first to tell you that they don't matter unless he's hoisting the national title trophy in January.
He is, however, the best quarterback in the country and that's the top reason to buy stock.
2. Talented newcomers
Folks, Dabo Swinney actually utilized the transfer portal this offseason and his three additions are all looking like budding stars.
Dabo added Jeremiah Alexander from Alabama and the former five-star linebacker led the defense in tackles during the spring game and it looks like he's going to have a major impact immediately. He also picked up Will Heldt off the edge from Purdue and experts have called him one of the top transfers to watch. Lastly, Tristan Smith looked like a monster in the spring game, leading all receivers.
I haven't even mentioned Amare Adams and Gideon Davidson yet -- two freshmen poised to earn starting roles at some point in 2025 and make immediate impacts.
These talented newcomers have everyone buying in.
3. Returning production
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Clemson returns the most production of any team in the Power Four. And for a team coming off a playoff berth and ACC title, that's huge.
Clemson brings back the No. 1 quarterback in the country, one of the nation's best receivers, a solid offensive line, an elite defensive line, and arguably the top cornerback in the nation, too. The Tigers return a ton of talent and a lot of that is projected to go in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
A team that won 10 games and went to the playoff last year is only going to get exponentially better? Yeah, buy stock immediately.
