It's time for watch list reveals, ladies and gentlemen. Clemson football fans may be more concerned with the preseason Top 25 reveal, but watch lists are a good consolation prize until that's voted on.
Clemson is considered one of the top teams in the country and you just know the Tigers are going to have countless players named to watch lists like the Biletnikoff, Maxwell, and Outland Trophy, but we can't overlook coveted awards like the Bronko Nagurski Trophy which is given annually to the top defender in college football.
Since Clemson has one of the best defenses in the nation heading into the 2025 season, it's fair to expect at least a couple of defenders will make the preseason watch list.
And on Tuesday, the Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list was revealed and three Tigers made the cut.
The three Tigers to make the list were defensive end TJ Parker, defensive lineman Peter Woods, and cornerback Avieon Terrell. There could be more candidates on this Clemson defense like Will Heldt or Wade Woodaz, but these are the three that were chosen to begin the season.
Parker was a given as he's considered a potential No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft as an edge rusher. He had 57 total tackles, 20 tackles for loss, and 11 sacks last season. He may be the best edge rusher in college football and a legit All-American candidate.
Woods, too, has been talked about as a candidate to go No. 1 overall in next year's draft and he had 28 tackles, nine tackles for loss, and three sacks as a sophomore for the Tigers.
Last but certainly not least is Terrell. The talented cornerback may be the best at his position in the nation and he racked up 58 tackles, five tackles for loss, a sack, two picks, and 12 pass deflections last season as a sophomore. He, too, is considered a first-round talent.
Cade Klubnik and Antonio Williams join these three guys are Tigers who have made preseason award watch lists already with more to come.
