Will Sheppard

The highest-rated wide receiver in the transfer portal per 247Sports is London Humphreys from Vanderbilt. Humphreys has already announced that he will be joining the Georgia Bulldogs.

It’s a little mindblowing to realize that the seventh-ranked wide receiver according to 247 is another Vanderbilt player.

Will Sheppard actually led the Commodores in receiving this season with 684 yards on 47 catches, while Humphreys snagged 22 catches for 429 yards. The difference is that Sheppard has one season of eligibility left while Humphreys has three seasons remaining.

247Sports’ Gabe Brooks said of Sheppard in high school that he was a:

"“P5-caliber receiver prospect with a high developmental ceiling based on multi-sport functional athleticism and frame potential.”"

Schools apparently didn’t see the same upside as Brooks. Sheppard’s other FBS offers were Army, UTSA, and Texas State.

Sheppard has the height that Clemson would likely target. He is 6’-3”. At 200 pounds, he has decent overall size. Like Fleming, he would make a decent short-term solution until Wesco and Moore can take over as sophomores.

Sheppard has already announced offers from South Carolina, Auburn, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss. He also announced offers from Minnesota and Tulane, but this recruitment definitely has an SEC flavor.
