7. Cade Klubnik, sophomore

It would seem crazy for Klubnik to leave after just his sophomore season and first full year as the starter, but we just saw a big-name highly-recruited quarterback leave this program. Dabo has been searching for the next Trevor Lawrence and so far it seems like he’s 0-2 on D.J. Uiagalelei and Cade Klubnik.

Klubnik is averaging 6.4 yards per attempt with 18 touchdowns to seven interceptions and he’s been sacked 19 times. There are a lot of reasons that this offense doesn’t work, but Klubnik is part of the problem. However, he might see it as Dabo’s refusal to infuse the roster with talent through the transfer portal while Jordan Travis was gifted Keon Coleman and Jaheim Bell by Mike Norvell at Florida State this past offseasons as the biggest issue.

If Clemson players feel like this is a sinking ship, they might want to start to evacuate this offseason. I don’t expect that to happen, but it’s a much more real possibility than I ever expected.
