Tyler From Spartanburg speaks out

Dabo Swinney held his usual Tuesday press conference, and as expected, quite a bit of conversation was about Tyler from Spartanburg.

Swinney didn’t back off of his comments but did say at one point that Tyler was probably just having a bad day.

Larry Williams of Tiger Illustrated managed to track down Tyler and interviewed him. The article is free to everyone.

While Tyler explains his perspective, he admits he probably didn’t handle the situation as well as he could have. He says his girlfriend was the first person to give him a hard time for his call.

"“My girlfriend has been all over me for this today. But I agree with her. Tact is not one of my strong suits, especially when I’m upset.”"

Tyler defends his position and the reason Swinney’s explanation for the current season upset him, but he was also relatively contrite about the interaction, and regretted how it played out. He texted Williams after Swinney’s press conference yesterday:

"“Call me sensitive, but he really got after me today hahaha. Definitely brought it on myself. I should’ve thought this through more lol.”"
