Good morning Tiger Nation! Here is today’s Clemson Tigers News.

Today’s Events

Clemson Softball vs Limestone: 6:00 PM at McWhorter Stadium (Fall Ball exhibition)

Clemson Women’s Soccer at Notre Dame: 8:00 PM in South Bend, Indiana – The Tigers close out their regular season this evening.

Jake Briningstool recognized by the Mackey Award

Clemson Football tight end Jake Briningstool has been recognized by the Mackey Award for his big day against Miami.

Briningstool had 126 yards on five receptions. He caught two touchdowns. He broke a school record for yards gained by a tight end, eclipsing Jordan Leggett’s 122 yards against Florida State in 2016.

The Mackey Award is bestowed annually to the best tight end in the nation. There is no direct correlation between the weekly honor and the announcement of semifinalists later in the season.

Brad Brownell gives an injury update

Clemson Men’s Basketball met with the media at ACC Tipoff yesterday, and head coach Brad Brownell updated everyone on his team’s lengthy injury list:

  • Joe Girard is nursing an ankle injury, but is expected to recover quickly
  • Jack Clark is still not cleared to play following off-season surgery, and his timeline is unknown
  • Alex Hemenway has a hamstring injury. Brownell is hopeful he will be ready for the beginning of the season
  • RJ Godfrey is healthy and cleared to play

More Clemson CB’s for Easton Ware

Yesterday I mentioned that 2025 offensive line prospect Easton Ware had one Crystal Ball favoring him to select the Tigers on November 1st. By this morning, that count had increased to four.

The original CB was from Notre Dame insider Tom Loy. The three registered yesterday were from national analyst Brian Dohn, Clemson insider Cory Fravel and Virginia Tech expert Kolby Crawford.

While Crystal Balls are not a lock, the volume at this point is a good indicator for the Tigers.
