Clemson gets two commitments for Women’s Sports
Head coach John Rittman got a commitment Wednesday from Addisyn Linton of Eaglesville, Tennessee. Linton is a left-handed pitcher who went 12-3 with a 2.49 ERA and 141 strikeouts in 104 innings in 2023. She is a left-handed hitter who hit .543 with 12 doubles, three triples, 18 homers, 59 RBIs, 40 runs and 11 stolen bases.
As an eighth grader she helped lead her high school to a state runner-up finish in their classification. As a freshman they won their state title and then finished as runner-up again last season. She is preparing to begin her junior season in high school and would join the Tigers for the Spring 2026 season.
I think she has some personality.
Clemson Women’s Tennis also got a commitment Wednesday from Amélie Šmejkalová from the Czech Republic.

Johnny Wilson, Ian Schieffelin, same guy
Dabo Swinney answered several questions on Wednesday, including one regarding who would be simulating FSU wide receiver Johnny Wilson, who is 6′-7″.
Swinney admitted he didn’t have a resource that could properly simulate Wilson but said he did have a potential solution.
Comfortable is a tricky word
Swinney was also asked about new ‘old’ kicker Jonathan Weitz, who rejoined the team this past week and will be available Saturday.
I suspect that Weitz will attempt any field goals within 35 yards, give or take, and that Robert Gunn will still get the call on longer attempts. I also expect Gunn to continue taking kickoffs.
