Time set for Florida State at Clemson Football
When the Florida State Seminoles visit Clemson Football on September 23rd, it will be a noon kickoff. This was expected to be a prime time game, but it appears Clemson’s loss to Duke has taken some of the luster off this game from the networks’ perspective.
Stewart Mandel of The Athletic also made this valid point.
It’s strange how some of these decisions get made. It reminds me of movie studios moving their big releases around to avoid direct competition with other blockbusters.
Dabo Swinney has a lot to say
Head coach Dabo Swinney responded to some of the criticism he and his program have received regarding their use (or lack thereof) of the transfer portal.
"“People talk about this portal all the time. Do I prefer the portal? No. But am I opposed to it? No, absolutely not.”“We have conviction. You are never going to make (everyone happy), there is always going to be criticism, especially when you have success, which is good, because people care, that is fine…. we’re not sitting here today – I would have been long gone, a long time ago, if I ran this program the way everybody else wanted me to run it. I wouldn’t be sitting here. At the end of the day you have to have conviction in what you believe in as leader and understand that some people are going to like you and some people are not going to like you and some are going to believe in what you want to do and some aren’t and that just comes with it. But at the end of the day you have to do things with the way you believe and we have a process that we believe in and if I was somewhere else my process would probably be different, but we have an established culture.”"
Swinney mentioned that he expects to have Misun ‘Tink’ Kelley available this week. It appears he has been injured through the first two games, though this was the first I had heard of that. Swinney reiterated that the team would like to redshirt Kelley, but that could change depending on circumstances.
"“We’ve got another kid that we’re going to get back this week that we’re going to try to redshirt if we can, but we look at him, he and Tyler Brown, really there’s not much difference between the two and that’s ‘Tink,’ Misun Kelley. He’s a really special guy. We’re trying to redshirt him… but we’ll see how it all plays out.”"
