The non-conference schedule for Clemson Men’s Basketball has been released in full.

The Tigers will play twelve games outside the Atlantic Coast Conference in the 2023-24 season. They will begin with an exhibition game against Newberry College in Littlejohn Coliseum on November 1st at 7:00 PM.

The most noteworthy teams on Clemson’s non-conference schedule are Alabama, TCU, and Memphis.

The Tigers will play the Crimson Tide on November 28th in Tuscaloosa as part of the ACC-SEC Challenge, which will pair teams from each conference, in both men’s and women’s, against each other over three days.

Clemson will play the Horned Frogs in Toronto, Ontario, Canada as part of the 2023 Hall of Fame Series on December 9th. The event will also feature Alabama against Purdue.

Clemson will play in Memphis on December 16th. They will have the return match in Littlejohn in the 2024-25 season.

Clemson will host their archrival, the South Carolina Gamecocks, on December 6th.

Other teams on the non-conference schedule include:

  • Winthrop – November 6th
  • UAB (in Asheville) – November 10th
  • Maryland or Davidson (in Asheville) – November 12th
  • Boise State – November 19th
  • Alcorn State – November 24th
  • Queens – December 22nd
  • Radford – December 29th

The Tigers do not have their ACC schedule yet.

Clemson Men’s Basketball was close to an NCAA Tournament bid in 2022-23

Clemson will be attempting to qualify for the NCAA Tournament after narrowly missing the Big Dance in 2022-23. One of the primary criticisms of the Tigers’ resume last year was the poor strength of schedule due to a weak non-conference slate.

The Tigers played some teams last season that they thought would be ranked higher in the NET Rankings but ended up having below-average seasons. Paired with some bad losses, their ranking in the NET suffered.

While the team can only control what they do on the court and must do their part, the teams on Clemson’s schedule will hopefully have above-average seasons.
