Most of the discussion this summer about the Clemson Football offensive line has been recruiting. They only have one commitment so far and several prospects, including three in-state kids, decided to go elsewhere.

Those players wouldn’t have helped the Tigers this coming season, and now that media days have started and fall camp is around the corner, the focus is shifting back to the product on the field in 2023.

Long-time starter Jordan McFadden has moved on to the NFL, so there is an important hole to fill in the starting lineup. The other four starters from 2022 are back, and everyone (except the three true freshmen) has a full season of experience in Thomas Austin’s system.

Now they also have a new offensive scheme to fit into as well. Developing chemistry in this fall camp will be critical.

Here are the roster expectations as we approach fall camp.

  • Expected starters:
    • RT: Blake Miller (So)
    • RG: Walker Parks (Sr)
    • C: Will Putnam (+Sr)
    • LG: Marcus Tate (Jr)
    • LT: Tristan Leigh (RS So)
  • Depth: Mitchell Mayes (Sr), Bryn Tucker (RS Jr), Trent Howard (RS Jr), John Williams (RS Jr), Dietrick Pennington (RS So), Ryan Linthicum (RS So), Collin Sadler (RS Fr), Ian Reed (Fr), Harris Sewell (Fr), Zack Owens (Fr)
  • Walk-ons: Will Boggs (RS Jr), Nathan Brooks (RS So), Sam Judy (RS So), Peyton Pitts (RS Fr), Chapman Pendergrass (RS Fr), Mason Johnstone (RS Fr), Bryce Smith (Fr), Jake Norris (Fr)
